Triangular Birthday

I absolute LOVE basic shape punches and dies – even more so if the dies have a stitched edge. In the New Annual Catalogue, Stampin’ Up! introduced the Stitched Triangle dies and I absolutely adore them! Recently, a friend of mine decorated her daughter’s bedroom by masking triangles across a feature wall and using shades of pink and grey. It looks amazing and gave me inspiration for this card.

To make this, I cut out a lot of varying sizes of triangles in three colours – Petal Pink, Blushing Bridge & Smoky Slate, then brought them together like a jigsaw. The aim of the jigsaw was to avoid having two of the same colour next to one another.

I then added this jigsaw onto a Smoky Slate matt and then onto a Whisper White card base. For a bit of contrast, I added a ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment heat embossed in white on Basic Black, offset to the right.

It’s amazing where inspiration can come from!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Derwent Pencil Box

20200712_074617477_iOS 1

Hello everyone, hope you are having a good weekend! Thank you to everyone who joined me on my Facebook Live yesterday, where we made a birthday box for a set of Derwent Pencils. This gorgeous box fits a tin of 6 Derwent pencils, a lovely gift for any occasion.

This project heavily features the Playing with Patterns suite using the Designer Series Paper, a ribbon from the combo pack & the Resin Dots. I kept the box simple, letting the decoration speak for itself. The paper pattern I chose allowed me to use one of five colours, so I went with Coastal Cabana.

The ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from the Many Mates stamp set fits nicely into the 2″ circle, leaving room for some embellishments and a pretty to finish off the decoration. My daughter was very pleased with the end product, gifting the box to one of her friends.

What do you think?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

From All of Us

20200614_133022213_iOS 1

Good Morning! It’s the start of a brand new week – how are we all doing?

Today I wanted to share a card that is a bit different from the others that I make – this card is very simple and a great card for a beginner to make. It uses a single stamp set (From All of Us) , a single sheet of A4 Whisper White card stock & some Stampin’ Blends.

I absolutely love the larger outline images such as the one on this stamp, I find colouring them in therapeutic and a way of decompressing if I’ve had a hectic time in my day job. Plus it reminds me of simpler times when my only worries in life were focused around which shade of red I was going to use on my picture.

This card was quickly turned into a birthday card for a colleague and the sentiments in the stamp set made is easy to show it was from multiple people. I love the font the sentiments are written it, the cheeky faces on the animals and the whole sense of fun this set brings to any project.

How adorable? I hope you like it as much as I do!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

40 Brotherly Wishes

Good Morning all, how are you today? How are you enjoying the new goodies so far? Today’s project takes a small break away from the new items and acts as a reminder to the amazing stuff that was already available in the catalogue. Not everybody is a fan of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and even if you are, sometimes there are occasions where the paper doesn’t necessarily transfer to the event you are creating for.

This is where the versatility of Stampin’ Up! proves to be a great advantage, as the stamps mean you can create DSP style backgrounds of your own using the full colour range. This card shows how I took the star motif and the numbers ‘4’ and ‘0’ from the Family Party stamp set to stamp a background suitable for a 40th birthday.

Combined with some Stitched Nested Labels Dies & a touch of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and you have a gorgeous monotone card fit for a brother turning 40!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Rainbow Birthdays

That’s right, I’m back!

What better time to come back to the world of blogging and sharing than the new Stampin’ Up 2020-2021 catalogue? I have remained a demo during the time I’ve been away from my blog, so have plenty of goodies to show you – I can’t wait!

There is a product in every catalogue that turns up and looks so much better than the photos can give justice. The rainbow glimmer paper is that item in this year’s catalogue, it is absolutely gorgeous!

This card was made for a member of my team in my day job, who turned 21 last week. With such a milestone birthday, I felt it was only right to make a card with such amazing product. Because I didn’t want to distract too much away from the gorgeous rainbow gradient, I went for a simple silhouette look using dies from the Happy and Well Written sets.

I think you’d agree the paper makes the card really special!

Best Wishes,
