InColor Notes Part 1

Birthday Party Live – Project #1

Yesterday evening, the first of my Birthday Party Live events took place over on my Facebook page – if you missed the video, you can view this here on my blog or over on my Youtube challenge. Thank you to those of you who watched and showed your support, it is much appreciated.

These incolor notecards came about from an idea my daughter had – a few weeks ago, I made a Penguin Winter Card using an ink technique, which she wanted to do again. However, with the small surface area that a notecard presents, she decided to use a single colour in a simple circle.

Together, we added a simple sentiment and finished them off with a resin dot. Keeping them simple and without using many resources.

Good Luck!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Wild Hedgehog

This stamp set was the first one from the Annual Catalogue to make it on my ‘wish’ list. I absolutely love hedgehogs and this one is so cute! I love the sketched nature of the stamp set and the free reign it allows me for art materials – the imagery would suit Watercolour Pencils, Stampin’ Blends, using ink with an Aqua Painter or just left as outline images.

For this particular card, I chose to use Stampin’ Blends as I wanted to play around with the colours and the shading. The image shown is made up of three separate stamps – the mushrooms, the hedgehog and the leaf. Only the mushrooms came with grass as part of the image, but the versatility of my Stampin’ Blends allowed me to replicate under the hedgehog and leaf also – barely noticeable too?

I wanted to keep this card simple to show off the coloured image, so backed it onto a single piece of Just Jade – which I think it absolutely gorgeous. Don’t you agree?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Happy Monday! As a lot of us are back in front of our computers for our day jobs, potentially working from home given the current circumstances, I wanted to show you this project which was gifted to my work team as a thank you for their support during lockdown so far. Each and everyone one of my colleagues have had to drastically change their working patterns, practises and even working spaces to adopt and adapt to the working from home lifestyle that Covid-19 has introduced.

I wanted these boxes to be a surprise treat in the post to say thank you but with a personal touch.

The start of another week – how are we all doing?

Today’s project showcases a stamp set that may have been forgotten due to all the new goodies that have been released in the new Annual Catalogue (and I’ll be honest, I had forgotten about it too!).

The Parcels and Petals set has some great sentiments and stamps within it, and as you can see from this card, they’re great for making your own backgrounds or even your own Designer Series Paper.

Can you spot the error I made? Mint Macaron wasn’t meant to be part of this project, but I had put my Soft Sea Foam away and then noticed that the sentiment needed something more, so I grabbed what I thought was Soft Sea Foam, stamped and then realised it was darker. Mistake or not – I think it works! What do you think?

I hope you’re all keeping safe & well!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Thank you to everyone who took the time to watch my Facebook Live on Friday evening. As promised, here is the blog post to accompany the project we made.

Whenever I scour a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue, there are items which immediately jump out to me and set ideas going in my head. The camouflage background stamp immediately got me thinking about cards for male recipients – they are one of my biggest challenges.

Originally, I made this as part of a challenge set in the Stampin’ Up! team that I am part of – we had to use the three colours Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight & Balmy Blue (with only white or black as additionals). This is what I came up with!

As part of my TFI Crafty Friday, I demonstrated how to make this card and used a different colour way – Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider & Granny Apple Green.
