Stars and Wishes

Merry Merlot and the absolutely gorgeous Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper (DSP) make another appearance on the blog today. They are both highly addictive craft materials and once you start, you just can’t stop crafting with them. This time I have teamed them with the amazing double sided Copper and Merlot ribbon & the Joyous Noel Glimmer paper. WOW!

The foiled snowflakes on this piece of DSP really set the card alive and I wanted them to be the main focus of this card. The only things I added were a small piece of ribbon to set behind my sentiment, punched out and bordered with Glimmer.

For the sentiment, I used the Flourish Filigree stamp set and fussy cut around the shape to allow a border of glimmer to peek from behind it. The double sided ribbon adds the final touches to the card.

Let me know what you think.

Merry Merlot Christmas

20181005_124926915_iOS

A very simple card on the blog today, one to make if you’re running out of time or perhaps want to mass produce them for family / friends. This card takes just 3 supplies plus ink and adhesive. Amazingly quick to make and can be reproduced in a number of colour ways!

I chose to showcase Merry Merlot, a lovely reddish purple colour which is just perfect for the Festive Season. Teamed with the Specialty Designer Series Paper, Joyous Noel – which features a gorgeous foiled effect.

To add a little ‘something’ to this card, I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of vellum. This not only added an extra layer and texture to the card, but it provided some masking of the background to make the wording stand out a little more. I absolutely love it!

Hope you have enjoyed this.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Guylian Choc Box

So, I have a bit of a treat for you on today’s post. Not only is this a project that involves chocolate – Guylian chocolate at that. But this is a project WITH A VIDEO TUTORIAL! *screams* I’ve finally given myself a talking to and taken the plunge – let me know what you think!

This project is a gorgeous little box for Guylian chocolates. I’ve focused a on flowers and Christmas recently so decided to strip back to basics on this one and make it simple without using too many different supplies.

Smokey Slate is my grey of choice which I then accented with Cherry Cobbler – LOVE! It may be a new favourite combination of mine. The box is then finished with a bit of twine and a tag to co-ordinate.

Let me know your thoughts!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Boyish Birthday

20181005_125003165_iOS

Do you find that you struggle to make male orientated cards or projects. Those where a flowery Designer Series Paper (DSP) just won’t suit the recipient. As a mum of three children, two of those being boys, I sometimes find myself struggling for a theme to make a card for them. Now they’re no longer babies, it’s even harder to make a more male orientated card.

I’ve found that as long as you have the right colour combination, the card can suit both males and females – unless of course, you’ve got OTT on the flowers etc. This card could be made in any colour combination to suit both males and females.

This one is made with Pacific Point and Smokey Slate – two colours which I think go brilliantly together and follow the male theme I wanted. As a lot of my Designer Series Paper (DSP) is flowery or Christmas, I used an embossing folder to add a bit of texture and design to the card front. Then finished it with some candles and a ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from the xx Stamp Set.

What colour combinations do you use for your male inspired projects?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Thankful Cabana Thoughts

20181004_140137473_iOS.jpg

Coastal Cabana is a colour that made its return during the colour refresh back in June. It’s a beautiful blue, when you don’t quite want to be as bright as Bermuda Bay and co-ordinates with the gorgeous Team Room Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The Team Room DSP is thinner than other suites, making it brilliant for projects where a thicker card don’t quite suit. It’s lovely floral patterns make it suitable for pretty much every occasion and you can 4 of each design, which makes it so much better than other packs of paper!

I wanted the paper to take the full focus of this card, so added very little to it. A separate layer added to emphasise the paper and a small sentiment to complete. Then finished a Polka Dot Tulle bow.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
