This was actually the first project I made with the Simply Elegant Suite when I received my pre-order. It was meant to just be a play around that got me my crafting mojo back, but it turned out to be a nice project that I really liked and so here it is. I’ve changed a few small things in my tutorial video, but the underlying box template remains the same and I love the use of magnets on the closure.
I think this Art Deco inspired piece of Designer Series paper is my most favourite from the pack, it really gives the box impact and meant I could focus on other elements – such as the punch tag closure – instead. Speaking of the punch tag closure, how gorgeous is the Elegant Tag punch? I really love the decorated top of the tag, it really lends itself to multiple uses.
I originally heat embossed the sentiment, but looking back, I wasn’t so happy with it and so swapped it for stamping on my second box – which I think looks much better, it pops the sentiment off the box and makes it much clearer to see.
Like any project of mine, I brought out the embellishments and ribbon – both gold to match the foiling in the Designer Series Paper. I have fallen in love with the Bumblebee trinkets, LOVE them. In fact, more of them may have fallen into my latest order!
