Simple Friendship

SimpleFriendship_Pic

Today I have a #simplestamping card for you made with one piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP), one stamp set, one colour of card stock and one colour of Ink. This features the First Frost paper which was wildly popular last year and is a returning favourite in this year’s Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue.

The First Frost paper has two differing sides to the paper, one being a foiled patterned side and the other being gorgeous snowy / winter images. I chose the latter and picked this gorgeous snowy sunset over a forest. I didn’t want to take anything away from the stunning image, so layered it quite simply onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss and stamped my sentiment straight onto the paper in the bottom corner.

The Stamp Set used is Snowflake Wishes, part of a new suite which has just been released in the catalogue and is proving very popular.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Feeling Boho Blue

Small boxes are absolutely adorable and they’re even better when you get to make them from a single suite of products! This project uses the absolutely gorgeous Boho Indigo Product Medley, a selection of goodies with dark blues as a theme – Night of Navy & Misty Moonlight in the Stampin’ Up! world.

I love darker colours, so getting to use these lovely dark shades of blue is right up my street. The product medley can be found on page 9 of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, just before the kits. It contain a whole host of goodies including a stamp set, a 6×6 Designer Series Paper Stack, co-ordinating dies and two sets of ribbon!

To showcase this suite, I chose a relatively simple box to make – no fancy folds or over the top decoration. This box is 3 inches square and is a lovely size to house sweet treats, some small cards / tags or perhaps some jewellery.

The ribbon finishes off the box really well, I love the frayed edge on it and it feels so soft! And the best part? You can buy refills for the medley if you run out!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Penguin Fun

I love cute stamp sets, especially ones that I can colour in with my blends alongside my children. When the Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue went live for demonstrators, my children flicked through the pages and immediately chose the ‘Freezin’ Fun’ stamp set used on this card as well as the ‘Have a Hoot’ and ‘Warm & Toasty’ stamp sets. They all have gorgeous outline images of animals which we can colour to our hearts content.

This card uses a great technique for creating your own backgrounds without the need for Designer Series Paper (DSP). Now don’t get me wrong, I love DSP – but sometimes you want to use something else or the papers don’t quite suit what you’re wanting to achieve.

The background was achieved by choosing 4 different inks – on this occasion it was differing shades of blue to create a snow flurry sky effect. The snowflake stamp I used comes from the ‘Snowflake Wishes’ bundle, using versamark to stamp them randomly before embossing them with white powder.

The ‘Freezin Fun’ stamp set forms part of the ‘Freezin’ Fun’ Bundle, which I absolutely adore as it means I can die cut each of the images to use on my projects. This card allowed me to showcase them perfectly against the blended ink background. The die set includes the stitched edge which forms the snowy hill on the background.

I absolutely love it and have made differing version already, one of which is shown in my video below. Hope you enjoy!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Glimmer Snowflakes

How pretty is this card? I can’t take the credit at all, I only glued the bits down – but the star of the show has to be the Balmy Blue Glimmer paper, its so glittery and a lovely colour. I had to make it the star of the show, so didn’t want to do too much to distract away from the glimmer.

The dies and stamp set form part of the new Snowflake Splendour suite, which has just launched in the new Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue.  With the addition of a Stitched Rectangle Die, this card was made with a focus on the glimmer paper. The dies are stuck onto the glimmer using the adhesive sheets, I prefer to use them for intricate dies as multi purpose or fine tip glue always find a way to sneak out from under the item and show up on the card front. This way, the adhesive stays hidden – where it should be!

To finish off the card, I used matching Balmy Blue ink and the Blue Adhesive Backed Gems, bringing a little bit of bling to the card. I absolutely love it and I’m so happy the photograph was able to show the glitter on the background.

Are you going to invest in the suite?

Suzanne

Chocolate Vellum Box

ChocolateKindofDay_Pic

How amazing is the ‘Nothing’s Better Than’ stamp set? You may not like all three feature items in it, but at least one of them will be a vice, mine is chocolate (and sometimes cocktails!). A couple of years ago, I made chocolate boxes for my team which included a long thin chocolate bar – a bit like a Ripple / Flake / Twirl / Time Out. I thought I’d remake these to make full use of the stamp set.

I used chocolate inspired card stock with Early Espresso and Soft Suede for my two samples, using tone on tone stamping by using the matching ink shades. These boxes could be very easily adapted to suit the coffee sachets available in supermarkets, ideal to gift to a caffeine crazy friend / family member.

I wanted to give my boxes a wrap of some sort and a contrast away from the dark shades of cards, so I added a small piece of Plush Poinsetta Vellum around the middle. Finishing off the wrap with a chocolate inspired sentiment. These are such cute boxes and easily to reproduce on larger scales. I have recently made 15 of these for my UK team, which took me no longer than an hour to complete.

I hope you enjoy making them as much as I did!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
