Pull Toy Congrats

This is a warning – this stamp set may appear so many times between January and June that I might just annoy you a little with it! I’ve already got two projects lined up in January and more on the way!

But, just look at how cute this little elephant is? He was the first stamp that I used from my demonstrator pre-order, I simply stamped him and went from there. He’s coloured with blends in this project – Grey Granite and Balmy Blue to be exact. To allow him to pop off the card, he’s been fussy cut and popped on dimensionals.

I don’t have anyone to gift this card to just yet, but it’s a perfect one to have ready in my card stash if / when a baby boy is born.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Simple Sunday #7 – Darling Donkeys

Welcome to my new Sunday series, affectionately known as Simple Sunday! The aim of this series is to showcase projects using minimal supplies, ideal for the beginner crafter or someone new to Stampin’ Up! Each project is a white card base with a 3×3 panel decorated using a single stamp set or die set. This week’s project features a stamp set you can earn during Sale-a-Bration between 5th January and 28th February.

Before the catalogue has even launched, I can tell you this stamp set is going to be popular. It is already all over Pinterest with demonstrators using the set from their catalogue pre-order and you can see why! These little guys are so cute – this one in particular.

I kept this really simple by stamping the donkey, colouring him in with a few blends and fussy cutting him onto the background square. The sentiment is stamped from the same set and with the same ink used to stamp the donkey. So cute!

Will you be adding this set onto your wish list?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Dandy Inspiration

Sometimes, there are items in the catalogue that you don’t appear to fancy as much as others. These items are lower down on your wish list and sometimes, you don’t purchase them because you want the other items first. Well, I’ll be honest, that was my first thought when I saw the Dandy Garden suite.

However, demonstrators who attended Onstage at Home in November were gifted part of the suite by Stampin’ Up! as part of the Swag Bag option. The paper, stamps, punch, ribbon and trinkets were included as part of this – so rather than leave a set unused, I decided to have a play.

As you can see, I have created a lovely card from the set and massively proved to myself that I shouldn’t write off any item in the catalogue based on the images in there. I love how the stamps look coloured with Stampin’ Markers against the Very Vanilla cardstock.

And the best part? The trinkets – oh they are the sweetest things! I quickly adhered three onto this card and they look absolutely gorgeous.

So the moral of the story – never judge a suite by the images in the catalogue alone.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Well Suited Hooray

Coming up in the new Jan to June Mini Catalogue, there is a suite that is completely male orientated and I can’t get enough of it! I’m absolutely rubbish at making cards for men no matter what the occasion is. So for those of you who like me, you’re in for a great surprise when the catalogue goes live on 5th January.

The suite contains stamps, dies, paper and twine and is perfectly co-ordinated in the usual Stampin’ Up! style. Perfect for any crafter as it means you spend less time finding the ‘right’ shade of any colour.

This tapered top box is made using Night of Navy, but in my Youtube tutorial I have switched things up and used Basic Black – which turned how far better than I ever expected. By doing different colour combos on camera, I’ve learnt to just go with it and has really surprised myself.

The box is decorated with paper from the suite, but with a sentiment from a new stamp set called ‘You are Amazing’ which features in the Mini Catalogue. It fits perfectly into the Stitched Square I chose and sit’s nicely centred on the front. A touch of ribbon and the project looks gorgeous and ready to gift.

Which colour / pattern do you prefer?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Simple Sunday #6 – Freezin’ Fun

I am so sad to be seeing this bundle retire, although expected it’s still sad to say goodbye to these gorgeous characters. I’m such a fan of cute character stamp sets, especially ones that I can colour in with blends. My children love crafting with me and these sets are always a hit with them.

So that I could play with this set one last time, I decided that my final Simple Sunday of 2020 would feature the Freezin’ Fun bundle – like I needed an excuse! I featured the bunny in my sample card, but then the penguin in my video and I just love how both of them finished up.

In true Simple Sunday style, I have created my project within a 3 x3 inch square, which is then mounted onto a Whisper White base. Which hopefully shows you just how easy it is to bring a card together, without many supplies.

I hope you like it.. Will you be sad to see this set go too?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
