Unicorn Magic

So, I have a confession to make! I wasn’t the person who designed and made this card – it was my daughter, Mia. She is a fan of unicorns and absolutely loved the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP) when it arrived in my new catalogue order. The Hippo Happiness Stamp Set is her absolute favourite and so whilst I was sat in my room crafting one evening, she joined me and this is her creation.

Mia didn’t want to take too much focus away from the gorgeous background paper she chose for her card, but she knew she wanted a unicorn to feature on there somewhere. Using the Hippo & Friends dies, she chose two shapes and layered them up with a flagged banner between them.

And of course, what goes better with a unicorn die cut than a unicorn sentiment and some Wink of Stella? I think she’s absolutely nailed it! Please leave Mia your likes and comments about her card, she would be absolutely thrilled to see if you like it too.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

40 Brotherly Wishes

Good Morning all, how are you today? How are you enjoying the new goodies so far? Today’s project takes a small break away from the new items and acts as a reminder to the amazing stuff that was already available in the catalogue. Not everybody is a fan of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and even if you are, sometimes there are occasions where the paper doesn’t necessarily transfer to the event you are creating for.

This is where the versatility of Stampin’ Up! proves to be a great advantage, as the stamps mean you can create DSP style backgrounds of your own using the full colour range. This card shows how I took the star motif and the numbers ‘4’ and ‘0’ from the Family Party stamp set to stamp a background suitable for a 40th birthday.

Combined with some Stitched Nested Labels Dies & a touch of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and you have a gorgeous monotone card fit for a brother turning 40!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Tealights with Comfort & Hope

Recent global events have us all looking at things differently – for me this has crossed into the way I look at crafts. My posts earlier this week involved making, and subsequently posting, cards for team members who I would normally see every day at work. A 21st birthday and the welcoming of a new baby are events we would normally celebrate together in the office and present cards as part of this.

It made me think about other ways in which we can show we still care in times when we can physically see those we love. Today’s box is a great way of doing this with very little craft material needed. It houses 6 tea lights, the standard size ones you can usually get from supermarkets.

The Comfort and Hope stamp set gave the perfect sentiment to add onto the front, with a stamped off image to finish it off. How has crafting helped you during lockdown?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Rainbow Birthdays

That’s right, I’m back!

What better time to come back to the world of blogging and sharing than the new Stampin’ Up 2020-2021 catalogue? I have remained a demo during the time I’ve been away from my blog, so have plenty of goodies to show you – I can’t wait!

There is a product in every catalogue that turns up and looks so much better than the photos can give justice. The rainbow glimmer paper is that item in this year’s catalogue, it is absolutely gorgeous!

This card was made for a member of my team in my day job, who turned 21 last week. With such a milestone birthday, I felt it was only right to make a card with such amazing product. Because I didn’t want to distract too much away from the gorgeous rainbow gradient, I went for a simple silhouette look using dies from the Happy and Well Written sets.

I think you’d agree the paper makes the card really special!

Best Wishes,
