Somebody Loves You

The start of another week – how are we all doing?

Today’s project showcases a stamp set that may have been forgotten due to all the new goodies that have been released in the new Annual Catalogue (and I’ll be honest, I had forgotten about it too!).

The Parcels and Petals set has some great sentiments and stamps within it, and as you can see from this card, they’re great for making your own backgrounds or even your own Designer Series Paper.

Can you spot the error I made? Mint Macaron wasn’t meant to be part of this project, but I had put my Soft Sea Foam away and then noticed that the sentiment needed something more, so I grabbed what I thought was Soft Sea Foam, stamped and then realised it was darker. Mistake or not – I think it works! What do you think?

I hope you’re all keeping safe & well!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Thank you to everyone who took the time to watch my Facebook Live on Friday evening. As promised, here is the blog post to accompany the project we made.

Whenever I scour a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue, there are items which immediately jump out to me and set ideas going in my head. The camouflage background stamp immediately got me thinking about cards for male recipients – they are one of my biggest challenges.

Originally, I made this as part of a challenge set in the Stampin’ Up! team that I am part of – we had to use the three colours Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight & Balmy Blue (with only white or black as additionals). This is what I came up with!

As part of my TFI Crafty Friday, I demonstrated how to make this card and used a different colour way – Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider & Granny Apple Green.

I do love making cards using just two colours – they’re so simple and use very little supplies!

Today’s card was made using a stamp that’s not often used from the Beauty Abound’s stamp set, the bubble style motif is often overlooked in favour of the flowers or butterflies. I think the same can be said for my colour choice – Soft Sea Foam.

The subtle green shade is often a touch too light for people’s tastes and is often shunned in favour of Mint Macaron. But I like it – and so decided today’s card was going to be made showcasing the two items and bring them into the spotlight.

To give it a focal point, I’ve layered up several shapes to make the sentiment stand out and finished it off with some gorgeous – good for all occasion – pearls.

I hope you like it?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Good Morning – how are you all? Can you believe that it is already the end of June? Me neither! It’s incredible just how quickly 2020 is disappearing! During lockdown, I found myself at a loose end and turned to crafting more to pass the time – I found colouring in therapeutic, so made a lot of cards with line images that I could colour in to pass the time.

This example takes the Butterfly Gala stamp set, my favourite colour Blackberry Bliss & a couple of blends. Randomly stamped butterflies on the Whisper White background create a beautiful backdrop for the card, finished with a simple sentiment ready to gift to someone.

I absolutely love it – how have you passed the time during lockdown?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Who doesn’t like a box that you can recreate in any colour you want? This box certainly lends that opportunity as it is all made using card, ink and stamps. At first, I looked at making this slightly smaller and including note cards in with it – but then I changed my mind and went for a bigger size that can accommodate sweet treats, candles, jewellery… almost anything!

Using the 2019-2021 incolors for the box base, I wanted to add something that gave the box some decoration without using Designer Series Paper (DSP). In the end, opting for a white belly band stamped with decorative flowers in the matching incolor. A strip of ribbon finishes the box with a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

Take a look at my tutorial below to see how easy it is to make!

Suzanne
