Triangular Shades of Purple

20200619_210224766_iOS 2

Happy Hump Day to you all! I hope you are all keeping safe and well? Today, I wanted to showcase some dies recently introduced in the Annual Catalogue. I love basic shapes – squares, circles, rectangles – and we have a lot of these available as dies with stitched effect too. However, we didn’t have any triangles until now..

At first I wasn’t too sure how I was going to use them, but I knew I wanted them to be purple and not used around a sentiment. In the end, I kept playing with their positioning and this is what I came up with. I love the differing shades of purple and how they work with one another – another reason to use Stampin’ Up! colours.

I then finished the card off with the ‘Lovely You’ stamp set and kept the card neutral from any event, with a touch of Crumb Cake ink to highlight the floral stamp used. I hope you like this as much as I do?!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

From All of Us

20200614_133022213_iOS 1

Good Morning! It’s the start of a brand new week – how are we all doing?

Today I wanted to share a card that is a bit different from the others that I make – this card is very simple and a great card for a beginner to make. It uses a single stamp set (From All of Us) , a single sheet of A4 Whisper White card stock & some Stampin’ Blends.

I absolutely love the larger outline images such as the one on this stamp, I find colouring them in therapeutic and a way of decompressing if I’ve had a hectic time in my day job. Plus it reminds me of simpler times when my only worries in life were focused around which shade of red I was going to use on my picture.

This card was quickly turned into a birthday card for a colleague and the sentiments in the stamp set made is easy to show it was from multiple people. I love the font the sentiments are written it, the cheeky faces on the animals and the whole sense of fun this set brings to any project.

How adorable? I hope you like it as much as I do!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

After Eight Teacher

20200705_172401369_iOS

How is already that time of year? Schools are getting ready to break up for the six weeks of summer (for those year groups that have been able to return following Covid-19 closures). For my eldest son, this is his last year in Primary School and he moves onto the scary world that is High School from September. Even though he will have only been back mere weeks, he wanted to get his teachers something to say ‘thank you’ and ‘goodbye’.

Inside these boxes are 10 After Eight chocolates, just the right amount to say thank you to each teacher without overloading them to the point they need a gym membership to work off the extra pounds gained from end of year gifts.

My son chose the Whale of a Time paper stack and a fish pattern in Shaded Spruce – which works well as the After Eight’s choc box is also a dark green. At first we tried stamping and colouring in the apple from Harvest Hellos with Stampin’ Blends, but something just didn’t quite sit right. A quick look on Instagram showed lots of stampers embossing their apples on coloured card stock, which has worked brilliantly on these boxes.

Finished off with a little note inside & a bow of ribbon on the front, these are gorgeous little teacher gifts without breaking the bank. My son can’t wait to give these to his teachers on the last day of school!

Where is this year going?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Squee! I absolutely LOVE the Artistry Blooms paper – I cannot stop using it! I absolutely love the ombre effect side of the paper and these bags show off the paper in great style.

This bag uses a single strip of glue (for the sentiment), which means they can be stored flat until you’re ready to construct and gift. The paper being double sided means the inside has a gorgeous patterned interior.

I decided to finish mine with a bit of ribbon & a punched out sentiment – take a look at the video to find out more and let me know what you think!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
