Succulent Contours

From the new 2021-2023 Incolors, I think Soft Succulent is my favourite. I’m not normally a green fan, but there’s something about the muted green shade that I simply cannot stop using. When the demonstrator pre-order opened up, the first things to go in my basket were the new incolor ink pads, card stock, ribbon and the Colors & Contours stamp set.

I teamed Soft Succulent up with another green shade from the new Incolors, Evening Evergreen, acting as an accent colour for the stamped layer and sentiment. I know you don’t get many green flowers, but I wanted to keep my card to just the two colours (and white).

In the stamp set, you do get both the outline stamps and the inner shading – but I chose to colour mine in using Stampin’ Blends. Keeping it quite simple so that the main card base would be the focal point using some tone on tone stamping. I think it has come together pretty well.

What is your favourite colour from the New 2021-2023 set?

I hope you’ve enjoyed todays project.

Shimmering Incolor Birthday

Whoop! Everyone loves a project with something that shimmers, right? I know I do. What’s more, it’s one of the new colours and it uses a full sheet to showcase the gorgeousness (that’s a word) of the paper. The new Incolor Shimmer paper is beautiful and whilst my photos don’t quite capture just how beautiful it is, my video certainly does – so be sure to watch it!

The colours within the new 2021-2023 Incolors are absolutely gorgeous and so no great work is required to make a project look stunning – I decided to team mine up with the Artistic Dies and the Tailor Made tags, keeping them as basic as possible to let the paper do all the talking.

To help stick the gorgeous leaf motif from the Artistic dies, I used the Adhesive Sheets. It prevents all the mess that can be made when trying to get liquid glue in the right places. Then to give the label a bit of ‘pop’ and tie it in with the colour scheme, I’ve added some of the co-ordinating ink around the edges with a blending brush.

…and no bag is finished without some bling on there, so the Silver and Clear Epoxy essentials give it a gorgeous finish. In the video I make a Pale Papaya version – which do you prefer?

Best Wishes,

Camo Love

20200612_195235671_iOS

Thank you to everyone who took the time to watch my Facebook Live on Friday evening. As promised, here is the blog post to accompany the project we made.

Whenever I scour a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue, there are items which immediately jump out to me and set ideas going in my head. The camouflage background stamp immediately got me thinking about cards for male recipients – they are one of my biggest challenges.

Originally, I made this as part of a challenge set in the Stampin’ Up! team that I am part of – we had to use the three colours Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight & Balmy Blue (with only white or black as additionals). This is what I came up with!

As part of my TFI Crafty Friday, I demonstrated how to make this card and used a different colour way – Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider & Granny Apple Green.

**This video was streamed live on Facebook and has not been edited**

Measurements:

  • Card Base = 41/8″ x 113/4″ inches (scored at 57/8)
  • 1st Layer = 37/8″ x 55/8″ inches
  • Stamped Layer = 35/8″ x 53/8″  inches

Rainbow Thanks!

20181004_095936681_iOS.jpg

I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too. Rainbows are pretty and are one of my upline’s favourite things. Each month, myself and other members of the team are rewarded for our achievements – be this a title promotion or hitting a sales target. This card was my thanks for those rewards and to show my appreciation.

For this, I combined a series of colours from the Brights & 2018-2020 In Colour DSP stacks to create both the background on the card and as part of the oval for the sentiment. The sentiment itself is hand stamped using the Lined Alphabet stamp set, where I chose to keep it simple with just the outlines finished with Wink of Stella.

I’m really pleased with the finished product and only hope the recipient is too.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Showcasing Green!

Do you ever find you get stuck in a cycle using the same colours over and over again. The purples, blues and reds get used a lot in my craft room. But the greens and pinks are always left on the shelf – especially green.

My upline (the fabulous Pootles) once set the team a challenge to use a colour or set of colours that we didn’t use often, so I decided that today was going to be a day where I did that but from this years incolors.

Now I LOVE this year’s incolors, but if there’s one of them that is going to be used less than the others, its definitely the green. So that’s the basis of today’s make!

Call Me Clover is not only the card base, it’s the ink and the ribbon on today’s card and I think it works rather well (even if I do say so myself). Coupled with some Whisper White cardstock and a piece of Twinkle Twinkle DSP.

Whilst it’s a colour I’m not really fond of, I love this card and its simplicity. You too can create one just as easily!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
