Rainbow Stars

RainbowStars_Pic

The Rainbow Glimmer paper is gorgeous, so gorgeous I didn’t know how to use it initially as I didn’t want to cut into it. Technically, I didn’t cut into this as whilst it isn’t a full piece of 12 x 12, it is a full piece underneath the top layer of Whisper White. I wanted to show the rainbow glimmer off in a way that was subtle but pretty at the same time.

Using the Happy dies, I die cut a number of randomly placed stars across the top layer of white. Whilst randomly placing them, I was also making sure I was capturing the full ombre of the Rainbow Glimmer to really show it off – but leaving space for a sentiment to be added.

I kept it quite simple by layering the white onto more white and stamping my sentiment in Magenta Madness for a pop of colour alongside the rainbow. Which I absolutely love! Do you love the Rainbow Glimmer too?

Best wishes,
Suzanne

Gleaming Cube

Making large boxes isn’t done often, mainly because I like to save Designer Series Paper (DSP) and not use an entire sheet in one go. But that’s silly – that’s what it’s for and should be used for others to be amazed by. So I’ve done it, this project uses a full 12″ x 12″ sheet of Specialty Designer Series Paper and a full 12″ x 12″ foil sheet. It looks absolutely gorgeous and I wish I had done it a lot sooner.

The Brightly Gleaming paper is a returning fave from last year’s Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue and you can see why – it’s absolutely beautiful. There isn’t much you need to do to a project when you have paper like this! So I decided to make the most of the stunning paper and not do too much to cover it up.

The foil base sits with the paper lid and a wrap of Night of Navy ribbon – the only extra piece is a small label, ready for the recipients name to be added. I love it, almost too much – who is going to receive this from me? It’s a great size to fit lots of treats, jewellery, scarves, ornaments, a bundle of smellies… all sorts!

Have you got your hands on this paper? If not, why not?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Beautiful Leaves

BeautifulLeaves_Pic

Sometimes a simple card says its all. You don’t need to throw every craft supply at a card for it to get the message across, simplicity is beautiful too. This card demonstrates exactly that! I am in LOVE with the Gathered Leaves dies, the detail they have on them for a small die is absolutely gorgeous especially when teamed with the Brushed Metallic card stock.

I wanted the gorgeous leaves to take centre stage, so with two sets of leaves I created a border for my sentiment. Layering up with some Early Espresso and onto Thick Whisper White – no ribbons, no embellishments – just the sentiment and the metallic leaves. Beautiful.

The inside of the card has been left blank so when the time comes to gift it to someone, a personalised message can be added. I love it!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Halloween Bright

Yes, this paper is making an appearance on my blog again. I just cannot stop using it and find myself reaching for it more than any other Designer Series Paper (DSP). Whilst on this occasion, I was thinking of Halloween – I didn’t want to go full Halloween and wanted to introduce a colour not often linked to the occasion. So I reached for another fave of mine, Magenta Madness. I’ve already had to top up my Magenta Madness cardstock as I’ve used it that much!

This little pouch was made with trick or treating in mind, we get quite a few visitors each year and always give our little treats or gifts to the children who knock on our door. However, this year we may have to adapt our gifts to suit the restrictions that Covid-19 has brought about – this is where I have introduced the pouch. It is a good size for a pack of small sweeties or a fun size chocolate bar to fit in, but means you can pass them out without others touching them.

I decorated mine with matching Magenta Madness ribbon and a sentiment from the Banner Year stamp set. The sentiment is such a perfect fit for the pouch and looks pretty finished with the Iridescent Pearls.

Do you do anything for Halloween at all? Or is it perhaps an occasion not celebrated by yourselves?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Happy Boho News

Stampin’ Up! make simple cards so easy – the products in the Annual Catalogue are beautiful and co-ordinate with one another perfectly. To make life even easier, they bring together Product Medleys – one of which is used in this project. The Boho Indigo product medley is gorgeous, full of floral patterns, shades of blue and finished with gold accents.

This card uses three simple items from that medley – a piece of Designer Series Paper, a gold edged die cut for a sentiment and two gold pop out die cuts for decoration. All I added was the card base and stamp a sentiment – which is ideal for those last minute cards that are needed or for someone who is new to crafting and isn’t sure where to start.

But I think you would agree – Boho Indigo makes great projects every time?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
