Merry Christmas Glimmer

Christmas always bring out the glitzy side of me, I don’t seem to use glimmer paper at any other time than the festive season. The Merry Christmas dies immediately screamed glimmer paper to me, the intricate worded dies are a good size and so take centre place on any card or project you make.

Today, I teamed Garden Green and Gold together keeping it simple with some Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the greeting ‘Merry Christmas’. A very quick card to make and great for if you need something last minute with minimal supplies needed.

A great choice to make multiples of and can be cycled with differing papers and glimmer choices.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Tone on Tone Falling Flowers

Tone on tone was introduced to me in my early days as a demonstrator by my lovely upline, Pootles. It is the amazing technique where you stamp onto cardstock with the same colour ink as the card. My example shows the GORGEOUS Highland Heather, teamed with the Falling Flowers stamp set.

I don’t know why, but I always reach for the floral stamp sets when doing tone on tone cards. But I’m sure you’ll agree that the Falling Flowers set suits this perfectly. You can’t go wrong with flowers stamped in random patterns.

Why not have a go yourselves?

Suzanne

Frosted Floral Card

All of my favourite things on one card.. Purple, Frosted Florals DSP & glimmer paper! I’ve already gushed about this paper on previous posts of mine, but it just continues to wow me. The paper takes all the attention meaning you can keep your cards and projects simple, which is what I have done.

I was so pleased when Blackberry Bliss made a return during the colour refresh, it has always been one of my favourite colour (so much so, I didn’t get rid of my old ink pads when it retired!). One of my favourite colour combinations is purple and gold, so I took full advantage in using those colours for this card.

I’m sure you’ll agree that the colours look amazing together and the pearl sheen on the paper just makes it even more beautiful to look at!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Very Vintage Birthday

One amazing benefit of ordering from Stampin’ Up! is the rewards you receive, today showcases one of the absolutely gorgeous hostess stamp sets, available once your order or party hits a total of £150 or more. Very Vintage is a set of gorgeous stamps which instantly caught my eye and I just had to get my hands on it.

Very Vintage offers a beautiful set of stamps, so much so, I created my own background using a ‘stamping off’ technique to get a faded image. Now with any vintage style project, I like to add a pop of colour and for this one, I chose Balmy Blue – one of our new colours as part of the Annual Catalogue refresh.

The bee stamp is somewhat symbolic to my work colleagues and I, as we are based in Manchester so knew many affected by the Ariana Grande MEN Arena bombing. The bee symbolises the unity in which Manchester came together during the aftermath and only felt right to be used on this card.

Coupled with the ‘Stitched All Around’ bundle and you have an amazing card, for that special someone on their birthday.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Sweet Candy Cane

OK, I succumbed and the ‘C’ word that many try to avoid has drawn me in and I’ve already started dabbling with my Christmas related supplies. I love Christmas, I love the colours involved and the lead up to it and of course, I love the sweet treats involved.. and who doesn’t love a Candy Cane? My children certainly do!

Of the Christmas supplies I have purchased, this is the first one that I reached for. I love a project that involves a punch – they’re quick, they’re simple and very easy to make multiples if necessary. This card combines another of my favourite things to do – stamp my own backgrounds. The Candy Cane Season set has stamps which make brilliant backgrounds and this is showcased on this card to perfection.

A quick and simple card which can be brought together in minutes.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
