Simple Friendship

Today I have a #simplestamping card for you made with one piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP), one stamp set, one colour of card stock and one colour of Ink. This features the First Frost paper which was wildly popular last year and is a returning favourite in this year’s Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue.

The First Frost paper has two differing sides to the paper, one being a foiled patterned side and the other being gorgeous snowy / winter images. I chose the latter and picked this gorgeous snowy sunset over a forest. I didn’t want to take anything away from the stunning image, so layered it quite simply onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss and stamped my sentiment straight onto the paper in the bottom corner.

The Stamp Set used is Snowflake Wishes, part of a new suite which has just been released in the catalogue and is proving very popular.

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

How pretty is this card? I can’t take the credit at all, I only glued the bits down – but the star of the show has to be the Balmy Blue Glimmer paper, its so glittery and a lovely colour. I had to make it the star of the show, so didn’t want to do too much to distract away from the glimmer.

The dies and stamp set form part of the new Snowflake Splendour suite, which has just launched in the new Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue.  With the addition of a Stitched Rectangle Die, this card was made with a focus on the glimmer paper. The dies are stuck onto the glimmer using the adhesive sheets, I prefer to use them for intricate dies as multi purpose or fine tip glue always find a way to sneak out from under the item and show up on the card front. This way, the adhesive stays hidden – where it should be!

To finish off the card, I used matching Balmy Blue ink and the Blue Adhesive Backed Gems, bringing a little bit of bling to the card. I absolutely love it and I’m so happy the photograph was able to show the glitter on the background.

Are you going to invest in the suite?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Way to Go!

Some evenings, my children and I like to stamp images which can be coloured in with Stampin’ Up! blends and just spend some time colouring together. This card uses the ‘Moving Along’ stamp set and a set of images based on vehicles. We spent some time colouring them and adding bits of details such as tracks, roads and stars (which double up as steam from the train – because why not?!).

We cut the vehicles out separately and mounted them onto a base of Whisper White, but felt this would be too plain so introduced an additional layer of Bermuda Bay. Our card base is Real Red, which I think contrasts beautifully with the Bermuda Bay.

To finish the card off and give it a bit of dimension, we stamped onto Basic Black and heat embossed it in white. My boys went on to drop little stick men parachuting from their helicopter – which is so cute!

Are you a colouring person?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Somebody Loves You

The start of another week – how are we all doing?

Today’s project showcases a stamp set that may have been forgotten due to all the new goodies that have been released in the new Annual Catalogue (and I’ll be honest, I had forgotten about it too!).

The Parcels and Petals set has some great sentiments and stamps within it, and as you can see from this card, they’re great for making your own backgrounds or even your own Designer Series Paper.

Can you spot the error I made? Mint Macaron wasn’t meant to be part of this project, but I had put my Soft Sea Foam away and then noticed that the sentiment needed something more, so I grabbed what I thought was Soft Sea Foam, stamped and then realised it was darker. Mistake or not – I think it works! What do you think?

I hope you’re all keeping safe & well!

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

I do love making cards using just two colours – they’re so simple and use very little supplies!

Today’s card was made using a stamp that’s not often used from the Beauty Abound’s stamp set, the bubble style motif is often overlooked in favour of the flowers or butterflies. I think the same can be said for my colour choice – Soft Sea Foam.

The subtle green shade is often a touch too light for people’s tastes and is often shunned in favour of Mint Macaron. But I like it – and so decided today’s card was going to be made showcasing the two items and bring them into the spotlight.

To give it a focal point, I’ve layered up several shapes to make the sentiment stand out and finished it off with some gorgeous – good for all occasion – pearls.

I hope you like it?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
