Simple Sunday #10 – Touch of Ink

Welcome to my new Sunday series, affectionately known as Simple Sunday! The aim of this series is to showcase projects using minimal supplies, ideal for the beginner crafter or someone new to Stampin’ Up! Each project is a white card base with a 3×3 panel decorated using a single stamp set or die set. This week’s project features a stamp set that you can earn FOR FREE during Sale-a-Bration between 5th January and 28th February.

Touch of Ink – this has to be my most favourite stamp set of any Sale-a-Bration that I have been part of. So I decided to add an extra card in this week for my Simple Sunday. I absolutely love both of them for different reasons.

The softer colours of the hummingbird card vs the brighter hues of the butterfly, both of them are gorgeous in their own way and I really enjoyed making them both. The stamp set is two step – which means you can stamp the outline and then get another stamp to infill – leaving you a whole host of different colour combinations.

As you can see, I went for more muted tones for the Hummingbird hovering over the sweet flowers using four separate colours to show a difference between the outline and fill colours. The Hummingbird is them popped up on dimensionals to give some extra shadow on the card itself.

The Butterfly is popped up in the same way, but the colours are a little less muted. However, this doesn’t change just how pretty the card looks. They’re both equally beautiful.

I hope you find my Simple Sunday Series useful and it shows you that you don’t have to throw everything craft product you own to create a pretty project.

Which colour way / card do you prefer?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Simple Sunday #9 – Hydrangea Heaven

Welcome to my new Sunday series, affectionately known as Simple Sunday! The aim of this series is to showcase projects using minimal supplies, ideal for the beginner crafter or someone new to Stampin’ Up! Each project is a white card base with a 3×3 panel decorated using a single stamp set or die set. This week’s project features a stamp and die bundle that you can earn during Sale-a-Bration between 5th January and 28th February.

This bundle is absolutely gorgeous and brings back memories of gardening with my Grandma as a young girl. At a car boot sale, my Grandma and I found a beautiful Hydrangea plant being sold which had the bluest, most gorgeous flowers. The soil conditions in my garden at home meant it remains the most beautiful bright blue for years to come. Whilst I didn’t use blue for the flower head on this card, I feel Gorgeous Grape is a beautiful substitute.

For the flower itself, I used the dies – aside from the sentiment there is no ink used to bring this together. I love how the flower head die gives you the petal detail allowing you to add some dimension to your projects.. and I’m in love with the suite as a whole.

What other colours would you use for the flower heads?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Happy Birthday, Slim

We all love an easy project, right? Something that we can pull together in a moments notice if a last minute need crops up. Well this is perfect for exactly that reason. A full 12 x 12 sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP) is used to create this tall slim bag, which can be made up in minutes ready for filling and a label being added.

The label is made from two stamps from the You are Amazing stamp set – which I just can’t get enough of. It adds an occasion to the bag meaning you can switch it up as needed.

The paper on this particular bag is from the Paper Blooms DSP pack, which can be earned for free when purchasing £45 worth of craft goodies from the catalogue. It is absolutely gorgeous and is definitely a favourite with other demos and customers alike.

What quick and easy projects do you reach for when working against the clock? Have you placed your order from the new catalogue to earn this paper? If not, why not?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Simple Sunday #8 – Art Gallery

Welcome to my new Sunday series, affectionately known as Simple Sunday! The aim of this series is to showcase projects using minimal supplies, ideal for the beginner crafter or someone new to Stampin’ Up! Each project is a white card base with a 3×3 panel decorated using a single stamp set or die set. This weeks project is showcasing the brand new Art Gallery bundle, which is part of the new catalogue which launched on 5th January.

The stamp set is gorgeous and features beautiful two tone flowers, which are so easy to line up and create gorgeous designs. I love them! I’m not a massive fan of flowery sets, but this absolutely sung to me in the catalogue as it’s part of a larger suite (Fine Art Floral) with co-ordinating ribbon, dies, paper and golden speciality acetate

As you can see from this card, the flowers lend well to simplicity and the varying sentiments allow you to switch up the design for a large variety of occasions. I did a second colour way in my video – which one do you prefer?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne

Pull Toys Love

They’re back – the cute little animals from the Baby Pull Toys stamp set are back. It doesn’t take long for me to reach for this stamp set again and again, it’s almost addictive! You have to admit that the little animals are the cutest things ever, and they’re so easy to colour in with Stampin’ Blends.

I took inspiration from the Mini Catalogue and stamped all three animals in a row to form a gorgeous little train. I chose to colour these ones with blends using an assortment of different colours. In my Facebook live yesterday, I put together a baby girl version of the box using Blushing Bridge – but you could of course make this box from any colour (although I personally love the subtles!)

The box is so simple to put together and has the most adorable finish to it. What colour would you choose to make it in?

Suzanne
