Simple Sunday #17 – Elegantly Said

Welcome to my new Sunday series, affectionately known as Simple Sunday! The aim of this series is to showcase projects using minimal supplies, ideal for the beginner crafter or someone new to Stampin’ Up! Each project is a white card base with a 3×3 panel decorated using a single stamp set or die set. This week’s project features the Elegantly Said stamp set that you can purchase from the Annual Catalogue.

If you’re a regular to my blog, you will see just how much I have used this suite of products over the past month. I absolutely love every element of it and will shortly need to buy more! However, as usual today’s focus is on the stamp set, which I personally believe is overlooked because of the foiled beauty that is the Designer Series Paper.

As soon as I saw this stamp set the large flower and paisley style motif both stood out to me, so I wanted to make them the focus of today’s card. I love using contrasting colours and Smoky Slate paired with a bold colour is a favourite of mine. So this time, I paired it with Cherry Cobbler – one of my favourite colours which I don’t get to use enough except at Christmas.

And as Simple Sunday is about limited supplies and making beautiful cards with what you have, the sentiment is added onto a flagged label cut by hand. Flagging is so easy and adds something new to your cards.

What is your go to colour combo?

Best Wishes,
