Pastel Blends

Welcome to my Butterfly Bouquet spotlight week – this week will feature 7 video tutorials posted back to back to spotlight this early release collection from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. The collection is made up of several components – Stamps, Dies, Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Specialty Paper.

Today’s project features the use of the Stampin’ Up! blending brushes to create a background and to colour in the butterflies the form the foreground of the card. As the Designer Series Paper (DSP) features a more muted, softer colour palette I took inspiration from this to pick the three shades for my background. I love the blending brushes, they are really easy to use and leave a consistent even colour across the card. In the past I have used daubers and sponges, both of which are great for small areas, but the blending brushes are great for larger coverage.

The three colours I went with were So Saffron, Misty Moonlight and Magenta Madness and I think you’ll agree that the colours together work amazingly well. The card is finished with a sentiment from the ‘You are Amazing’ stamp set, stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, which rounds off the card perfectly.

Which colour combination would you use for this card?

Best Wishes,
Suzanne
